We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Rare and collectible 1966 first press on the legenddary Chess Records label

Recorded in the mid-'60s, the "real folk" appellation is not quite accurate. These 9 songs are electric and blistering, edgy like a coiled snake. When Hooker slips into his ferocious howl--as he does on "Stella Mae"--it can make the hairs on your neck stand up. He can also keep a slow pace simmering with relentless fire. Hooker's idiosyncratic phrasing and tempos made him most effective as a solo act during the early years of his career. For these sessions producer Ralph Bass successfully matched players to Hooker's quirky sensibility, the grooves all perfectly meshing into one organic rhythm contraption.

Hooker's 1966 Chess sessions find him working in a band format, which could be a risky proposition for a musician all too happy to meditate endlessly on a single groove and often unrestrained by the niceties of meter and 12-bar form. But with the able and alert assistance of guitarist Eddie Burns, pianist Lafayette Leake, and drummer Fred Below, Hooker stretches out and turns in one of his most expressive and inventive vocal performances. Whether he's loping through the feverish boogie of "Let's Go Out Tonight," ruminating on romance in a sinister remake of his '51 hit "I'm in the Mood," or expanding the genre's very boundaries with the eerie "Waterfront" (a track liner-note writer Chris Morris astutely credits for inspiring Van Morrison's vocal style), Hooker makes you believe every word.

CONDITION: The cover: Thick and solid, VG++ with only a little light shelf wear just starting ...nothing bad, very collectible...no split seams, no bends, no writing 

The vinyl: all clean and clear M- looks smooth plays outstanding ...the Chess Records are CLEAN
