Description

For auction is "Chet Baker Sings," on Riverside PJ-1222, MONO, 1956.

SOUND:

It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. Side A4, "My Ideal," has a few moderate "pops," but only a few. Side B5, "There Will Never Be Another You," has 4 "pops" at the very end of the song, into the segue. Overall, the playback of this soft and mellow record is very nice. There are minor instances of background noise here and there, but nothing that interferes with the enjoyability of the record. All the other cuts sound great (about VG+)!

VINYL:

Visually, the vinyl is about VG+. There are a few light scratches that don't affect playback. Overall, it looks very good. Deep-grooved on both sides. The labels are black with silver lettering. The runouts are stamped as follows: Side A: "PJ PS 1805 RE 2" and Side B: "PJ PS 1806 RE 2."

COVER:

The cover is quite nice, about VG+, maybe better. The front is clean, unmarked, and retains much of its original gloss. The back shows a bit of yellowing but is clean and in good shape. All the edges and seams are straight and solid, really nice. The corners are just slightly softened, but overall, the cover is really nice!

The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.

A very desirable record, in great condition. No reserve, bidding starts at $100.

Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.

Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.

If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material.  Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
