Description
I recently had the good fortune to buy a big collection of those rather limited early 80's Garage Punk & Psychedelic compilations LPs from a trusted collector who bought these all at the time....(ummm...from a shop I owned back then, in fact....ah, the cycle of time works in wonderful ways sometimes).
Anyway, this is one of them.
ARTIST: VARIOUS ARTISTS -
TITLE: "CHOCOLATE SOUP FOR DIABETICS" (Vol.1)
FORMAT: …vinyl LP…
LABEL: Relics .
CAT. #: LSD-1 .
DATE OF RELEASE: 1980 .
PRESSED IN: UK .
ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING? Yes!...includes the "God of hellfire" intro before the first song...this was deleted from the 1983 re-release...
QUANTITY PRESSED (if known): f#ck all, basically .
TRACKS: Side Track Band Name Song Title Released 1 1 The Voice The Train To Disaster 4/1966 1 2 The Nuchez's Open Up Your Mind 1966 1 3 Tintern Abbey Vacuum Cleaner 12/1967 1 4 One In A Million Double Sight 1/1968 1 5 The Misunderstood Children Of The Sun 2/1969 1 6 Dantalian's Chariot The Madman Running Through The Fields 9/1967 1 7 The Nuchez's B.G.'s One Eye 1966 2 1 The Flies I'm Not Your Stepping Stone 12/1966 2 2 One In A Million Fredereek Hernando 1/1968 2 3 The Fire Father's Name Is Dad 3/1968 2 4 Tintern Abbey Beeside 12/1967 2 5 The Fresh Windows Fashion Conscious 6/1967 2 6 Apple The Otherside 12/1968 2 7 The Unexplained A Walk Down Emily Lane 10/1966CONDITION:
COVER: (EX)...basically mint/untouched, just some light fading at left and a couple of light crinkles at top left...
VINYL: (VG++)...OK, I'm only grading it thus because it has a few visible-but-light marks...BUT...the cut, the sound is freakin' monstrous!!...and you canna hear anything but wailing teenage angst spat out amid a flurry of fuzz 'n' riffing 'n' the occasioanl swirling keyboard, with Thor himself on drums...I mean, just to get a LOUD AS ALL HELL non-digitalized version of the Voice's "Train To Disaster", you'd be clambering all over each other to nail this beauty...
LABELS: (Side One: M- / Side Two: MINT)...
If you have any concerns about the accuracy of my gradings, please check my feedback for the odd nice comment from some satisfied folk out there.... (and hopefully you may be able to join their ranks).
You can pay in US$'s or UK pounds or EURO's or Australian dollars.
CLICK ON view sellers other auctions ABOVE FOR SIMILAR ITEMS - I list lots of punk / garage'n'psych (60s –> 90s) / power pop / guitar pop / soul & R'n'B / some occasional original 50's rock'n'roll & rockabilly plus industrial/experimental rarities from down this way - vinyl mostly, and posters, some CDs - (admittedly you’ll find all sorts of other guff too)...
Thanks for considering this item. Best of luck if you decide to bid...Cheers, Jules.
