"The Art of Chris Farlowe"
Mono LP, Stateside label OSL 10021, released 1966. Flipback cover .Original Australian pressing.
Up for auction is this hard-to-obtain original Australian pressing of 'The Art of Chris Farlowe on the green Stateside label. This was the third LP released by Chris Farlowe and particularly notable in that it features four songs penned by Jagger/Richards. The album was also produced by Mick Jagger and engineered by Glyn Johns. The album liner notes were written by Andrew Loog Oldham, long time manager of the Rolling Stones. The plain white cover with sketch by Diana Warbuton is a very distinctive visual feature of the album.

CONDITION:
Record: VG . This record plays great with very good dynamics. There are quite a few surface sleeve scuffs plus a couple of light, long hairline surface marks but these do not affect playability. A small amount of background surface noise is heard between tracks and during the quiet passages with the occasional pop/crackle however in no way does this overpower the dynamics of the record. The album has very good gloss/sheen. Labels are very clean with no written biro or pen .
Cover: VG . Cover in very good condition overall. The distinctive white front cover has aged to become more of a creamy white colour with scattered light-brown "mildewy" spots mainly on the right hand half of the cover plus some ring-wear (see photo). The sketch , title and label on the front is in great condition and shows virtually no ink loss. Corners, upper and lower edges of cover are quite sharp and crisp. Sleeve opening still quite crisp with slight creasing but no tears or splits. Spine showing two very small inconspicuous tears and some ink loss on the 'F' of 'OF' , 'H' and 'R' of 'CHRIS' and the '00' of the catalogue number. Rear cover is quite clean except on the left hand side and bottom which shows some ringwear and some "grubbiness". Some pale brown scattered spots are present near the upper right hand edge of the rear cover . Name written in biro on the extreme upper left hand edge of the flipback cover.
