MICHAEL HORDEN & MARISA ROBLES: The Last Battle (ASV, SWD 357, 1982, 2-LP)
In 1980, Argo's Harley Usill started recording C. S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia (in the order the books were published), read by Michael Hordern and with music composed and played by Argo artist, Marisa Robles. However, before the first LP (The Magician's Nephew) was released, Argo's new owners, PolyGram (which had bought Argo's parent company, Decca), effectively closed the label down. So, Usill, along with Argo producer, Kevin Daly, set up the ASV label and these became some of the earliest releases (along with Peter Handford's Transacord series of railway recordings). The books were abidged for keeping within two hours per album by Harley Usall.
I admit it, I bought these way back in the laat century in an 'I'll get around to listening to them one day' sort of way. And still haven't, apart from test playing side starts and some random bits!
The sleeve is EX, apart from some light spine creasing, and the records look barely played, so should play at EX or better (the few parts I've play tested have been near perfect).
*    *    *    * Records generally have light marks from going in and out of sleeves - these are not mentioned unless they cause audible noise. All records are play tested unless explicitly stated otherwise. Please look at the photos carefully because they generally give a better idea of condition of sleeves/labels than my descriptions.
All items won, up to a value of £50.00, will be sent as Royal Mail 'signed for'. If items are bid above £50.00 (or multiple items won come to more than £50), they will be sent as Royal Mail Special Delivery, so that parcels are correctly insured against loss or damage in transit. If you win multiple items, please do not pay until I have invoiced with correct postage. Note that the postage costs stated include packaging costs. Where possible, packaging will be recycled but sturdy/secure.
The more you buy, the more you save on postage - e.g., winning up to 10 single LPs the postage cost will be the same as for winning one single LP, the postal rate used depending on whether the total value is over or under £50. Note that if you win items in multiple formats, (e.g., an LP and a CD), these have to be sent as multiple parcels (though I can bundle up a 7" records with an LP).
Thanks to an increase in non-paying bidders, unpaid for items are relisted after 5 days and non-payers are automatically added to my blocked list. If you are still bidding on other items, please contact me to let me know. I will only end an auction early if there is a problem with the record listing. Thanks to multiple problems, mainly Brexit-related, I will not post items outside of the UK.

Conditions tend to be subjective, and with vinyl I won't use 'Mint' for new, still sealed, un-played records - all records come fresh from the pressing plant with some minor imperfection to sleeve, record, inner, etc. So, I start with Excellent for the most part. The majority of LP sleeves from played but well looked after records tend to be what I would call Very Good (which should mean exactly what it says, 'very good'). Judging by most items bought on eBay over the last few years would tend to suggest that my "Very Good" (and, often, my "Good") equates to many sellers' "Excellent".
With tapes and CDs, I don't generally bother stating condition for standard jewel cases because these can be easily replaced - look closely at the photos! Tapes and CDs either play or they don't, so the media will be described as Mint if the former, though with mention of any wear to CD surface/tape casing.
Unless stated otherwise, all items on offer are from my own collection, started in 1966, and most of which has been in storage for the last fifteen years or so. Lockdowns caused me to revisit and clear stuff out. Why do I have multiple copies of records that I will never listen to again (except to grade them for sale, that is). There are about 15,000 more items to come from my rambling progressive rock, jazz fusion, folk, folk-rock, blues, 1950s stereo classical and easy listening, psychedelic, reggae, ambient, spoken word, comedy, Victoriana, railway, field recordings, electronic and occasionally just plain 'out there' collection.
