Description
This extremely rare LP has a high gloss cover with barely a trace of ring wear. This kind of glossy photo was more common in the 50’s and early 60’s. The seams and spine are solid with no splits. The back has minor ring wear and a few very light stains as shown in the photo. This 52 year old cover is in great solid condition.
The disc still has a deep black gloss despite various light marks and scratches that are, for the most part, inaudible since these older records had deep grooves and most scuffs were just on the surface. It plays VG+ with just a few unobtrusive scratches that only last a few revolutions. Nice clear fidelity. The labels show some spindle marks, but not through the ink.
It’s interesting to note that the Rolling Stones wrote a song about 2120 South Michigan Ave, which happens to be the address of Chess Records. Also, the song “Guitar Boogie” was lifted by Jeff Beck for his “Beck’s Boogie”.
Since they are from my personal collection, my records arrive dust and fingerprint free. The disc is sent protected outside the cover to avoid seam splits during shipping.
