CHUCK BERRY – Chuck Berry is on Top LP orig. 1959 absolute 1st. USA Press. dark blue CHESS LP-1435 MONO.
Chuck Berrys 3rd. (the other 2 are LP-1426 and LP-1432) Chess Album with 12 great tracks in original MONO:
SIDE1: Almost Grown; Carol; Maybellene; Sweet Little Rock & Roller; Anthony Boy; Johnny B. Goode;
SIDE2: Little Queenie; Jo Jo Gunne; Roll Over Beethoven; Around And Around; Hey Pedro; Blues For Hawaiians
In the case of Chess different color labels with the first design were used, often for the same album, so for instance "original pressings" of a Chess album might show up with either a dark blue or a black label. These were the original labels on CHESS Catalog-No. LP-1425 to approximately LP-1482.
I use strict RECORD COLLECTOR grading standards:
(Mint, NearMint, EX, VG, G)
SLEEVE (VG+): The mat thick cover shows some scuffs, slight ring wear and some stains on the rear Please see Photos).
LABELs (EX+): Clean Deep Groove blue Label, only few slight spindle traces evident.
VINYL (EX+): Visually the very thick vinyl shows only a few slight hairlines. Looks like new and barely played !!! Plays beautifully, very loud rock-n-roll music, high audio MONO dynamic range with some surface noise from the pressing (usual by US Pressings from the 50er) mostly audible between the tracks. Superb collectors Item. VERY RAR !!!!!!!!!!
