 2006 Game Two Records release (GT-33) limited to 1,000 copies on black vinyl

Tracklisting:

Side A: Church of Misery

“The Golden Dawn” (16:52) - voice and invocation by Aleister Crowley

Side B: Deer Creek

The Gateway was Broken (4:23)
Lightning Rod (8:20)
* Born to Sin  (3:24)

* this was billed as a St Vitus/Pentagram crossover, but is actually “Something so Heavy” (5:04), a mixture of The Beatles (She’s So Heavy) and Nirvana (Something in the Way).

Game Two Records returned, after a hiatus of 2 years, to release this split mini. Church of Misery delivered their usual hypnotic demented sludge, with plenty of great lead work from their new (back then) American guitarist. The 16 minute+ track also includes the invocating voice of Aleister Crowley to add further to the dark atmosphere.

Deer Creek was a  project of label owner, Conan Hultgren, after the demise of Iron Kind. Deer Creek steer towards a sludgy, gloomy Hardcore sound with harsh vocals.
