Another David Wilson audio capture of note, TREASURES FOR CLARINET AND PIANO features Charles West on clarinet and Susan Grace on piano.
It was recorded at Lucasfilm’s Skywalker Ranch, where the noise floor is extremely low and the acoustic totally adjustable.
That said, as you hear this duo play music of Debussy, Pierne, Babin, Gabaye, Bozza, and Ravel, note that they sound as if they are actually playing in your listening room. This is as intended by Mr. Wilson who goes through extraordinary “pains” to achieve such a result.
Does he succeed? Oh, yes. The presence is quite remarkable, the details all there and quite natural. (Monitored through Wilson WATT II/Puppies, by the way.)
As good as sounds gets from LP, here factory sealed.

Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $14 via airmail for the first LP, $3 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $5, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
