Description
CLARK TERRY & THELONIOUS MONK "CLARK TERRY QUARTET WITH THELONIOUS MONK" mono lp on Jazzland JLP-96 US issue 1958 VG+/VG. ( New dealer: Please check my about me page.)
I would grade this lp VG+. It plays great, but has some minimal noise that was not there when the record was new. It may also have visual marks, consistent with a well cared for, but appreciated, record that’s had a moderate amount of play. This LP still plays great and has lots of shine and is beautiful overall. THIS IS A VINTAGE COPY (pre-2000). ALL LPS COME TO YOU FRESHLY CLEANED AND PLAY READY. FOR MAXIMUM RESULTS RECLEAN EACH SIDE AFTER INITIAL PLAY (SOME OF MY LPS HAVE NOT BEEN PLAYED FOR 40 YRS. OR MORE.) I assume this is the same session as the Riverside "In Orbit" release. I would also guess that this is the first pressing of this but I'm not sure (the Jazzland is not listed in Goldmine). So this might be a super rare 1st. press or an reissue I don't know. Whatever else it is a very clean copy and a truly great session. Terry plays well with everyone but I think he and Monk click particularly well. If somebody knows more about this than I do let me know.
THE JACKET; No initials or stickers. Very functional jacket. I would rate the cover VG overall with a very neatly taped bottom seam and a sticker scar back. Otherwise really nice and pretty standard shelf wear. (I will only be citing things not visible in pictures).
