Description
This is a fine original U.K. pressing copy of the debut LP by the Clash, released in 1977. Along with the Sex Pistols, the Clash were at the forefront of Britain's mid-'70s punk explosion. The U.K. version of their debut was different from the U.S. version, which appeared two years later and replaced a few of the LP's tracks with U.K. singles. (For those into the minutiae, original U.K. pressing copies, per Discogs, had a couple of differences on the disc's labels: a two-way arrow under the word "STEREO" on the left side, and no "LC 0149" beside "CBS" on the right side. This copy's matrix #s are CBS-S-82000-A-5/B-4.) The jacket is close to M- with sticker residue on the front cover, light corner and bottom seam wear, and light creasing along the seams (EX+). There is a Jem import sticker on the front cover. The disc is clean with a few hairline scrapes on side 1, and plays close to M- with light surface noise audible between some tracks (EX+). The record does not include the bonus EP that was available to purchasers of early pressed copies.
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their sleeves. The sleeves have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded discs except where otherwise noted.
