ORIGINAL 1966 first pressing on the highly collectible TOWER Records label...one of the STANDELLS hardest to find, especially playing so clean ..
The legendary garage group never got their big break-through, but did optain a top chart hit single "Dirty Water." All said, what we have is a solid collection of cover versions of contemporary hits performed even better than the originals. The raw Standells sound is present on most tracks, and it is immediately noticable the Standells versions have aged more gracefully than the originals. For instance the Standells versions of "Lil Red Riding Hood" works really excellent as do their Rolling Stones take on 19th Nervous Breakdown and tougher workouts on classics like "Black Is Black", "Summer In The City" , Wild Thing and The Kinks "Sunny Afternoon" not to forget a great version of the psychedelic nugget "Sunshine Superman"...then they top the album off with their garage punk anthem "Dirty Water"

CONDITION: The cover is nice, "EX" (excellent) tiny bb delete at top left, otherwise very clean having NO split seams, no bends and no writing...TOP level
The vinyl is all glossy VG++ to "EX" (excellent) having a minor soft thin scuff line, plays TOP level M- clean
