Description
CLIFFORD BROWN AND MAX ROACH QUINTET ---- Rare 1st Press Release --- Label: EMARCY MG 26043 -Mono I have been selling my collectible toys and comic books, now entering into my records. In the future I will be listing 78s, 45s and 33s. As I mention in my comic book listings, I do not like to grade because it is very subjective. There is MINT and never opened, then there is everything else! --- I try to describe in detail and ask to please view all pictures and ask questions. - "But this a record I listened to and will try to be fair in grading."
-- My equipment that I listen to records on is a Technics SL-230 turntable with an Empire 1 cartridge, a vintage Denon DRA-625 receiver with old school bass-treble-variable loudness through a pair of classic Marantz Model 940 tower speakers. I am telling you this because my grading is what I hear though with this clean and semi-high end system and I will be able to hear all kinds of various surface noise, ticks, pops, etc. You may listen to something that may be forgiving in the surface pickup and this may sound better than I what I graded, on the other hand you may have much higher end system that you may feel that I graded is too high, so grading as I mentioned can be subjective as with any type of collectible item, unless professionally graded.
--- From 1954 EMARCY. This is the first release with the blue lettering back cover. This is a fantastic jazz album which made it in the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999. Cliff on the trumpet is someone to hear! Max has 3 drum solos and really shows his skills in this album. We'll never know what kind of inspiring trumpet sounds that Mr. Brown would have brought us since he passed in 1956 at only 25, too young too soon.
--- As far as grading, I am using the Goldmine standard, and honestly this album varies from G+ to VG to VG+, You do hear some surface noise and ticks. Side B tracks 1 and 2 are the more toward VG to VG+. Track 3 you hears some pops and ticks. Side A has a little more surface noise than B so the G+ to VG. No skipping. But overall you can still enjoy listening to this album unless you just like to collect records and not listen to it. I take more pictures than most because with records you can't touch, feel, hear until you get it in your hands. You will see bright light glares but I want you to be able to get an idea of the surface wear.
-- The paper labels are clean and intact with some center hole markings. --- The cover sleeve I feel is VG-EX, there is a 3" split on the left side and small split on the bottom, but has good color and gloss on the front. I believe that it has the original sticker price of $2.98 on it.
-- Would make a nice addition to your collection! Record is removed from the sleeve for shipping. Cover is shipped in plastic sleeve and packed very well.
-- Please view pictures of the actual item........ Please check out my other items too! - - No International Shipping - FREE Shipping US only!!
-- I DO NOT OFFER RETURNS, THERE ARE UNFORTUNATELY PEOPLE WHO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OTHERS - THEY BUY THE RECORD, RECORD IT (and not tell you) AND THEN SAY THEY DON'T WANT IT AND WANT A REFUND. That is why I try to describe as much as possible. Please ask questions!
