Description
Rare 1955 Hard Bop in-concert collaboration between drummer Max Roach and trumpeter Clifford Brown. This was from a series of jazz recordings presented by Jazz Entrepreneur Gene Norman. This is a much sought after 10" recording of 4 songs JOR-DU; I CAN'T GET STARTED WITH YOU; I GET A KICK OUT OF YOU; and PARISIAN THOROUGHFARE. Also on the album are Harold Land on tenor sax, Richard Powell on piano and George Morrow on bass. Vinyl looks good with only a few minor scratches but without a turntable, it can't be tested. Album cover is a bit tattered and has the names "Florence and Joe Lee" written in ink on the front. Seams are fragile and split likely. Surprise bonus is that on the Side 1 label, the name "Lee Morgan" appears in ink. Lee Morgan was, of course, a legendary jazz trumpeter in his own right and why he would be signing this record is a mystery unless he was filling in for Clifford Brown on one of the numbers. Very collectable classic for bop jazz fans.
