Description
You are looking at an original 1956 Prestige deep groove mono pressing of Clifford Brown Memorial Album. 50th Street, fireworks labels. Sounds just wonderful. I have included clips of this LP so that you can hear it for yourself. Please see below to listen to clips of this LP. LP ultrasonically cleaned and placed in a new poly inner sleeve.
Vinyl Condition: EX. Graded conservatively I think. Some may grade NM-. Glossy with clean, unmarked labels. I see almost no spindle marks. I see very superficial rice paper sleeve spots but almost no real wear from play or handling. Was stored in a rice paper sleeve all of these years and it really preserved its condition. Play tested and it sounds just wonderful with superb, atmospheric pressing sonics. It feels like the musicians are in the room with you. I heard faint, low background noise in quieter passages and an occasional, low crackle but that's all. I would play grade it EX to NM from start to finish. The opening bars of Dial B For Beauty, the quietest passage of the LP, with only a solo piano has some mild background noise heard but, otherwise, most of the LP play grades NM- to NM with a few short passages, namely the opening of Dial B For Beauty, play grading EX to strong EX. This is an unusually clean sounding original Prestige deep groove mono pressing. I have heard many original mid-50s Prestige pressings over the years and this is among the cleanest sounding I have encountered. Please listen to the 10+ minute audio file below before bidding. I have included passages from every track on both sides. Please note the stripes on the vinyl are reflections on the vinyl surface from objects in my office and not marks on the vinyl - particularly in image 4.
Outer Sleeve (cover) condition: Strong VG+. The top left corner shows wear and outside of this one detail it is a pristine sleeve and outside of the top left corner it looks like a NM- sleeve. Very glossy and clean all around. Looks barely handled. Minor shelf wear on back cover. The front cover artwork is unusually clean and glossy for an original Prestige mono dg pressing. Looks wonderful.
