Victor Race Series V-38572 Clifford Gibson Don't Put That Thing On Me/Jive Me Blues, a superb blues guitarist from St.Louis. Don't Put That Thing On Me was about Hoodoo “Although ‘that thing’ is never named, the idiomatic phrase ‘don’t put that thing on me’ refers to a specific form of conjure in which a hoodoo uses physical means — generally a powder containing minerals, roots, and herbs — to curse or jinx the victim, often, specifically, the victim’s sex life.” Jive Me Blues side is a V+, general lite wear, plays real nice. Don't Put That Thing On Me is V, same as the other side except for a few scratches that sound in different degrees, nothing real horrible, looks like something got in between two records and slid a cross, they are audible, as you can hear in the link of the record being played, but still, this side plays very well, the music comes through nicely. The records were played with a 3.7 stylus at my brothers house, this is how they sound with no equalizing. I was a collector years back, and some might remember buying from me on ebay 7 or so years back. I found this record at an antique store on a fishing trip on the Wis/Mich border (how the heck it ended up there is anyones guess), and know someone would be very happy to own it. I'm conservative on my grading. I'd rather see buyers happy than disappointed with over graded records. I will refund all monies if you are not happy with the record.
