EARTH ROCKER
NEW VINYL ALBUM
GATEFOLD SLEEVE
SEALED
With the exception of the bluesy slow jammer "Gone Cold," Clutch are at their most efficient and economical on their tenth album, Earth Rocker, focusing the energy they might have used for extended jam sessions into watertight rippers like "Mr. Freedom" and "Cyborg Bette." On their first album in four years, it seems fitting that Clutch would dive back in with a back-to-basics approach, rocking out as hard as possible without overthinking things too much. Clutch's reputation is based on solid songwriting, lyrical weirdness, and quality -- all of which are present on Earth Rocker. Shielded from the fickle whims of the musical world, Clutch can really only be compared to themselves, and that's something the band and its fans wouldn't want any other way. ~ Gregory Heaney
