McPhatter's final original album for Atlantic is a must-hear release, some of the sweetest and brightest R&B of its period, a little more balanced and unified in its sound than its predecessor with more emphasis on beat. "Lovey Dovey," "A Lover's Question," "Hot Ziggity," "Try Try Baby," and "Since You've Been Gone" (which features future superstar producer Richard Perry on trombone and Gee/End/Gone Records mainstay Bert Keyes at the piano) are catchy, jaunty rockers, while "Let Me Know" and "My Island of Dreams" are ballads in the more sweepingly romantic style that McPhatter aimed for in these years. Somewhere midway between them are "Gone" and "Everyone's Laughing," stripped-down R&B ballads with a beat, and "I Can't Stand Up Alone" is a glorious flashback to McPhatter's roots as a gospel singer.
AND, LASTLY, PLEASE DO REMEMBER SOUND QUALITY IS AFFECTED BY WHAT THE VINYL IS PLAYED ON!!!

GRADING & POLICIES: All records are visually graded. Grading indicates state of vinyl (covers noted separately). If I've listened to an LP, note will be made about sound quality. The following is a general overview about grades, subject to any above notations: MINT indicates pristine vinyl without any marks on surface. MINT MINUS may contain a few very light surface marks from play or sleeve wear under light. If you are a real collector, you'll know that even a factory sealed LP occasionally has some light sleeve or rub marks. Anything in the VG category would contain more than two surface marks or have some other visible signs of ring or hole wear. Rarely do I offer something in the "G" state. If I do, it's usually a rare LP and priced accordingly. Values are assigned according to market availability and rarity, not a price guide.
PAYMENT: PAYPAL is my only method for your payment. I like to ship your records out within 2-3 days of payment, so using PAYPAL gets the records to you ASAP and concludes the transaction.
