Very obscure and extra trippy dutch funk record from the alternative Dutch scene from holland. (Ruigoord!)
On this LP Cochius teams up with some young musicians, and comes up with an freaky FUNK JAM! Some parts are modern experimental, some parts psychedelic carpets (like the “Spider & the Bumble Bee”). Very rare, private pressing.
Bizar random blabbering (cochisms) and crazy stories. ""Is this the beginning or the End? The End ? The Beginning? I want Tea!"" Also reflections of Cochius reflecting on being a minister, diplomat or prme minister, realizing in the end that then he would have no time to play flute. So he sticks to the flute. Talking in a hippie idiom, but with a very old-fashoined 1950’s civilized dutch accent!
This is a project to record the street musician COCHIUS, who was then already in his sixties. In his younger years he had been a Tennis champion, and late 1960’s he changed his lifstyle and opened his house for youngsters & hippies. In the 1970’s he fought for the right to play music in the streets: the police confiscated his flutes hundredths of times, but in the end Cochius won the battle and ensured a liberal street musicians law. He was a well-known appearance in the Utrecht where he used to play in fron of the Library on the Oude gracht. He developed the so-called “COCHISM” a mix of flute melodies & weirded out poems.
