COL NOLAN TRIO OZ MODERN JAZZ SAMPLE “SO WHAT’S NEW’
Remember the Col Nolan Soul Syndicate from Sydney jazz venues like The Rocks Push and Soup Plus in the early seventies but this is considerably earlier. Both sides are basically cool funky sax and Jimmy- Smith- influenced electronic keyboards. The (a) side is more up- tempo. Col’s not the first Oz modern jazzman by any means, but records like this little gem show he was trying to take the music to new levels of sophistication at a very early stage in it’s development in this country. This is a radio station ‘sample” copy and the (a) side would be graded EX+ but the (b) side has a couple of long but light marks though I’ve never had any trouble with it on my system. This would have sold nothing -you won’t see another.
CONDITION WISE:

MINT: Brand new condition, no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover, label, extras in perfect condition.
EXCELLENT: Slight signs of having been played, no lessening of sound quality. Cover, label, extras are good.
VERY GOOD: played quite a few times, no real deterioration in sound quality. Cover, label, extras slight amount of wear and tear.
GOOD: showing some wear and tear. Reasonable, playable sound. No major defects in record, cover, label, extras.
FAIR: Sound quality deteriorated. Cover, label, extras display folding, scuffing, marks. .
