Description
The record you are viewing is part of a collection acquired through a successful auction bid. The product purchased is from a deceased record store owner whose doors closed circa 1970, having made a run of it during the 60's. An incredibly large volume of LPs remained, many in new (sealed) or pristine condition and properly stored. These will comprise the bulk of offerings I will be posting on eBay. With a vast and well preserved inventory, it will take time to sift through and uncover the many hidden gems that await. My goal is to present these finds to eBay buyers in a timely and systematic manner. I am aware finds of this nature are indeed rare, but the fact is, the records I will be listing have sat undisturbed for over 40 years waiting to be rediscovered, shared and enjoyed. I hope you will find some items you've been wanting and can be part of, what I feel, is an historical find. All items kept in smoke-free, pet-free environment.
Impulse gatefold original press Stereo vinyl LP A-34 (Van Gelder stamped in dead wax) - released 1963
An exceptionally nice find. NM vinyl appears as new with lustrous sheen and gloss. No markings from play or handling. May have been played once previously. Test played once on NAD C555 turntable revealed beautifully luminous stereo sound. I have been very impressed with the overall sound quality on the Impulse titles I've found in this collection so far. The EX laminated gatefold cover has broad straight spine and seams (one small stub lower rear left corner), with only light signs of shelf and ring wear, especially considering the high gloss black background. The spine hinge is stiff as if previously unopened. The interior has some edge discoloration consistent with age, but mostly appears bone white. I opted not to photograph interior as I did not wish to compromise firm hinge. My viewing was cursory, just barely opening.
