Description

Here's an interesting one. A one-sided test pressing on brittle acetate of Colin Blunstone's first solo recording following the split of the mighty Zombies.

Colin had actually claimed to have retired from music but along with fellow Zombs Chris White and Rod Argent as co-writers and producers, he eventually got back into the studio and subsequently released a version of this disc as his first single on Epic in 1971.  

The song is "Mary Won't You Warm My Bed" - a departure into a much poppier field - and this must have been one of the very few (only?) industry acetates cut for his approval at the Epic pressing plant. Curiously it has the words "NOT THIS" scrawled across the hand-written label. Maybe it is a different mix from what eventually came out I cannot say. The lacquer - as these discs are called in the States - is in truly excellent shape and there surely cannot be many Zombie collectors who have seen one of these.

There is no reserve and the start is low.
