Description

Greetings Ebayers !

You are bidding on a 1973 Australian gatefold stereo first pressing VG copy of THE COLOURED BALLS album entitled BALL POWER, on EMI Records.

The catalogue number is EMC 2507.

Matrix runout numbers are YMX 3023 and YMX 3024.

Yes, you did read that right.

The genre of the music is hard rock, with no excuses given.

At times it sounds like the Sex Pistols, at other times it sounds like the MC5.

Maybe you were around when this band was playing live or maybe you’ve heard about them being a legendary outfit.

Either way, this is your chance to put the needle down on an original copy of this classic yourself.

This is a genuine collector’s item.

As many of you music fans would know, this is a record that is hard to come by in general, even less so in an original Australian pressing, due to there being over 40 years since its original release date.

It is even harder to come by a copy that is in such excellent condition as this one - the condition of the vinyl itself is not much different now from the way it would have looked when bought new.

The record surface has a sheen to it with clearly seen groove definition.

I am probably being conservative in the grading of the record itself, but you will have to see it to believe it.

PRODUCT DETAILS

The vinyl is largely unmarked, with no outstanding marks, scratches or items of note to be seen.

The original plastic record sleeve, which is included, also looks very good.

CONDITION OF THE PAPER RECORD SLEEVE

There are no stains, examples of writing or scratches on the record sleeve itself.

This is noteworthy, considering its vintage.

The record’s outer sleeve is flat, except for where the record is inserted, retaining a slight wave along the edge - please see photos for details.

All edges and corners of the sleeve are almost sharp, without any dents.

Some ring wear is evident on the top and bottom outside edges of the sleeve - please see photos for further details.

CONDITION OF THE VINYL

The record plays through cleanly and quietly on both sides without incident or interruption to the program material.

The listener will find this copy of the record to be a sonic revelation.

Indeed, due to the fine condition of the record, the music really jumps out at you so you can be fully immersed in the experience, to say nothing of the passionate vocals, which come through clearly, to say the least.

It plays so quietly I forgot I was listening to a vinyl record.

I hope whoever wins this has understanding neighbours, because you will want to play it loud - the distorted guitar tones keep the vibe lean, mean and hungry.

When the guitar solos come in, it’s like having the guitar amp in the room with you.

The record has been kept in a pet and smoke free home since I have owned it, which is over 12 years.

Although I enjoy hard rock, I do not play the record (I have only played it once, to check its condition for this auction), so I would rather it went to a music lover who will play and enjoy it.

PICK UP ONLY - PLEASE READ CLEARLY

Until I find the absolute best method of posting valuable records

(that will meet both my high standards and yours),

I am operating on a ‘local pick up’ basis.

Due to the rarity and exceptional condition of this item, it will not be posted.

It would be appreciated if postage estimates were not requested, as this will save all parties time.

If you do not find the above stipulation suitable, it’s best not to bid, as this is sadly not negotiable.

However, if you’re interested in obtaining a legitimate copy of this legendary album in a rare original pressing and you can pick it up in person, you are cordially invited to bid on it.

Here is an opportunity to add a rare record to your collection, in its original Australian release format.

These types of titles don’t come up for sale often and when they do, it’s usually high up on a wall at a healthy price.

This record is the real deal and is priced to sell - if you’re the winner, you can tick this one off your list of ‘Holy Grail’ vinyl albums.

The music was made in Australia and so is the record itself.

Bidding is starting at a low price, based on the relative rarity of this edition of the album.

The item is available for pick up only in the Melbourne metropolitan area.

Please make payment within four days of the auction closing.

Happy bidding !
