Description
An original UK pressing - a set of 3 records, in die-cut company sleeves, with Mozart´s opera "Die Entführung aus dem Serail". Sir Thomas Beecham conducts Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Record one (side 1) includes Overture and Act I (Part 1). There is only one side on record one. The side is clean, without any surface sound. Matrix number is YAX769-1. Record two contains Act I (Conclusion) and Act II (Part 1) on side 2 and Act II (Part 2) on side 3. Both sides are clean and free of surface noise. Matrix numbers are YAX770-1 and YAX771-3. Record three has a little surface sound on both sides, in softer passages. Side 4 includes Act II (Conclusion) and Act III (Part 1) and side 5 includes Act 3 (Conclusion). Matrix numbers are YAX772-1 and YAX773-1. The singers are Léopold Simoneau, Tenor; Gottlob Frick, Bass; Lois Marshall, Soprano; Gerhard Unger, Tenor; Ilse Hollweg, Soprano and Beecham Choral Society. The oprera is sung in German. The grading for record one is NM, record two is NM and record three Ex. All the covers have a little wear on the corners.
