MAHLER Symphony No 4
vinyl LP on COLUMBIA SAX 5283 UK STEREO Rare 1966 pressing
I have acquired a large classical collection of wonderful recordings from a very keen and dedicated collector.
They are all mostly from the late 50s to mid 60s - Something of a Golden Age in Classical recordingAll records are inspected very carefully and
Gradings are based on Record Collector magazine.
I try to only offer recordings in a minimum of excellent Condition unless it is something particularly rare when I will do my best to describe any visual or audible flaws

First Edition pressing on COLUMBIA SAX 5283 Red and Black Semi circle label MATRIX MS 6833A - 1E MS 6833 B -1E
CONDITION
Side 1 Just under Excellent Visually with a light surface mark ( about 6mm) on the
last movement, which was inaudible on my deck ( Goldring Lencko)
and audibly Excellent - 2 light pops for one rev towards end of Second movement
Side 2 Excellent Visually and audibly
There were 2 light pops of one revolution towards the start of the third movement and 2 further light pops towards the end of the Fourth Movement
Sleeve
The front Sleeve is Excellent although on the rear there is a biro inscription to a prevoius owner ( See photo 2)
The fourth Symphony was finally finished in 1900 although this recording uses a revised score from 1910
and features Judith Raskin singing the song
Das himmilische leben from the last movement which concerns a child’s vision of heaven.
The fourth is Mahlers most performed symphony .
A highly regarded recording complimented by an attractive laminated sleeve design
