THERE ARE NUMEROUS SCARCE COLUMBIA, DECCA AND HMV EXAMPLES. PLEASE BARE IN MIND THAT THESE HAVE COME FROM A LIBRARY SO THE CONDITION WILL NOT BE FANTASTIC, ALTHOUGH SOME EXAMPLES ARE QUITE PLEASING. THESE AUCTIONS WILL HOPEFULLY GIVE PEOPLE THE OPPORTUNITY TO OBTAIN VERY SCARCE CLASSICAL RECORDS AT AFFORDABLE COMPETITIVE PRICES. THERE ARE SOME EXCELLENT EXAMPLES AND I AM SURE SOME WILL EXCEED YOUR OWN EXPECTATIONS. WITH THIS IN MIND, PLEASE BE AWARE OF THEIR EX LIBRARY STATUS WHEN BIDDING AS THESE RECORDS WILL NOT REALLY BE FOR THE COLLECTOR LOOKING FOR IMMACULATE EXAMPLES.

An unusual one here, the record has been reasonably well preserved in the sense that it does not seem to have been played or handled a great deal on first inspection, this is evident from there being very few noticeable hairlines with only a few slight surface marks and minor signs of wear.

Side ONE has sleeve rash across the surface, light to moderate, this is often seen when records have not been removed from the sleeves for prolongued period of time, this is often mainly a cosmetic issue and usually has very little impact on the audio play back. There are some slight faint hairlines and mild surface marks that aren't part of the sleeve rash but again nothing too heavy or distracting. With this in mind the visual grading should be around VG+ visually to account for the sleeve rash.

Side TWO has very few issues visually, some minor surface marks and minor inner sleeve removal marks etc but looks to be EX++ visually. There is a small faded library stamp to the label.

I have listened to both sides on the record and i found that there was an underlying surface noise running through out the record both sides, this was very light at time and barely noticeable, but at other times during quieter passages it was more noticeable.This was a little more noticeable on side A possibly due to the sleeve rash effecting the record. Side one audio grading VG+. Side Two (B) was much better, with only light intermittent surface noise noticed in places throughout. Side Two audio grading EX+. Some other mild surface noise, occasional pops and ticks to both sides, but still a pleasant listen.

Please bare in mind that this is a 1987 remastering of recordings from the 1930s 1940s so some surface noise may have been present on the masters, therefore this would translate to the final release, as is often the case with this type of reissue. That being said I am sure some of the noise detected is more down to the sleeve rash mentioned rather than it being on the master recording entirely.

A reasonably well presented sleeve throughout with some minor surface marks noticed and minor handling wear. There is some light edge and corner wear and minor scuffs, some grazing to the lower left corner area, with a small stain. Some label residue in the upper left corner area, with some minor handling wear. The back is quite clean with some minor marks. There is a old price sticker in the upper left corner but otherwise clean and bright. A solid example of this sleeve generally.
