Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

MEGA RARE ...Original tiny European =DOUBLE= vinyl set from long ago, haven't seen a copy for many many years ...simply vanished ... here's a beauty that emerged!

TOP MINT- FINAL COLLECTION COPY

At 5am on Sunday just before the Jefferson Airplane took the Woodstock stage, the rock outfit The Who played their rock opera titled “Tommy”. The story of a deaf, dumb, and blind boy who is cured of his ailments and gains stardom became a legendary performance. Although not an apex performance in the Who’s career, Woodstock helped solidify the band’s place in rock history.

The Who settled on the lineup of Pete Townsend (guitar), John Entwistle (Bass), Roger Daltry (Vocals), and Keith Moon (Drums). During their early performances, The Who was known for destroying instruments after Townsend accidentally put the neck of his guitar through the ceiling at one of the shows and preceded to smash the rest of it after being angered by the crowd.

This performance by the Who is pretty good for them, with a great rough edge and a bit of a looser feel than some of their other shows. They have the same passion, power, huge feel and stage presence that they are known for though and what's really great is that is seems like in a single song/medley, they capture the essence of the rock and roll spirit of rebellion, emotion and aggression. I mean what is more rock and roll that Pete Townsend smashing his guitar into the stage till it emits nothing but screeching feedback... at the end of "My Generation"... at Woodstock?

Overall the performance of Woodstock is worth hearing if you're a rock and roll fan and this double set of the Who is no exception. What really makes it worth hearing though is that it is not only a good representation of the band live and another classic concert memory, but it is also a great reminder of what makes rock and roll great: It's raw, rough, loud, emotional, aggressive and a bit primal.

Sure, any LP with Pete Townsend smashing his guitar at the end of "My Generation" would be great, but this LP being from The Who's famous Woodstock appearance in 1969 is just that much more effective.
