Description

TD 6869 on Private Pressing. This copy has been signed by the bands bass player LANCE FOGG.
This is an original 1970 1st issue album from the Lancashire band COMPLEX titled "COMPLEX".
Tracks are: Funny Feeling, Message From The Year 2,000, Green Eyed Lucy, Josie, Witch's Spell, Norwegian Butterfly, Self Declaration, Images Blue, Storm On Way, Madamoiselle Jackie Live For The Minute.
Matrix numbers are: JEF TD 6869 (A letter scratched out with an "X")A and JEF TD 6869 B. This holy grail album is in stunning near mint condition. The vinyl shines absolutely beautifully and has not a mark. The labels show just two barely visible very small spindle marks and have no damage to or around the spindle holes at all. The labels are beautifully clean and have not a mark. There is a tiny letter "L" on side 1. No handling marks or stains at all.
The notorious fragile sleeve is in VG+ condition. There is a split both at the top and bottom, but this could easily be repaired, and these are a few light creases to the reverse. There is a strip of old clear tape along the spine and light residue marks along the top and bottom edges. Generally this is in really nice condition. No nasty finger marks. The LANCE FOGG signature is on the back bottom left corner.
COMPLEX - COMPLEX - The holy grail. A 1st pressing record from the Lancashire band. Not only is this LP a testament to the groundbreaking nature of British psychedelia, only 99 copies of the record were ever pressed (strict tax laws made it extremely hard for a small group to produce more copies than this). Formed by Tony Fisher and Brian Lee in Blackpool in 1961, the band was originally called The Ramblers, playing covers of The Spotnicks and The Shadows. After Lance Fogg (bass) and Tony Shakespeare (drums, vocals) joined, the album was hastily recorded and cut at Craighall Studios in Scotland. EMI offered the band an audition, but a recording deal never bore fruit, but the band still went on to record a second album 'The Way We Feel' which is also highly sought after amongst collectors. The whole album is full of hypnotizing, dreamy harmonies and often mournful melodies (take for instance the lyrics from 'Norwegian Butterfly' - "Oh, My Norwegian Butterfly, This Love Means All The World To One Like Me, Oh, Set Me Free, No No No), this LP really is way ahead of its time and you are unlikely to find many copies of this on the open market.
Awesome holy grail once in a lifetime chance......
