'To Keep From Crying'

OF COURSE Comus's debut album is know regarded as a classic slice of early 70's progressive folk psych and rightfully so. It is one of the top collector's pieces having risen in price and desirability over the last few years as more and more people have found out about it via CD reissues.

This is their second and final album and one that is generally regarded as inferior to the debut. This is a view I had heard many times before aquiring a copy but I was pleasantly surprised when I actually got to hear it - the style on some tracks may be a bit more mainstream but there is more than enough of the original folk psych moves to compensate for the more commercial aspects. The vocals of femme fatale Bobbie Watson are still very much a focal point - she has one of the most enduring and pure voices of the entire era.

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Pressing: Virgin, Italy, 1974 - original coloured two virgins label

Vinyl: Fantastic clean and shiny condition. No spindle marks on labels and no other signs of use. A couple of micro surface scuffs (note NOT scratches when viewing in extreme light. Grades as top almost shop fresh MINT-!

Cover: Virtually no signs of use. Issued in a beautifully illustrated cover - notoriously difficult to find in clean condition as the light blue finish displays even the faintest of use. This one is about as good as I've seen. Sharp corners (tips faintly rubbed), no dings, no bends, no split seams and no creases. Spine is straight and stiff with original pinches top and bottom. Displays a hint of storage wear. Grades as top Ex
