" Supra Surge "

1980 Reveal R-C-77-3,  original issue PRIVATE pressing Canada Stereo

** Note:  this is NOT the recent  German-based re-issue on the Long Hair label  **

Mega rare second (and last) LP from this commune-based Canadian band........and another total freak-out ! ......killer hard acid-rock with lots of progressive and psychedelic vibes from this obscure Laval (Quebec) foursome who released just 2 long plays (and a couple of 45's) on vinyl (see our other eBay listing for their first LP).

These cats actually ran a hippie commune in central Laval (Quebec) in the 70's,  and they made their recordings as a potential means of funding their "community" (probably didn't work, as very few of their LPs were actually sold......now Mega-rare - pressed in the "hundreds"...not in the thousands).

Self-produced and privately pressed by the band on a budget,  but Wow !!, could these guys trip-rock !

Recorded in 1980, yet this is a masterpiece of progressive psychedelic and acid rock that definately sounds like something straight out of the late sixties.    Monster guitar licks and Hammond breaks, fuzz, raw vocals and psyched-out vibes everywhere ....they often sound like a melange of Amon Duul and early Soft Machine......but with that unique Quebec-flavoured originality.

Peter Riden (vocals, lead guitars), Robert Schwelb (vocals, organ, keyboards), Marc Ulus (vocals, bass, strings, flute, sax) and Pier Heiken (drums, percussion).

The band even takes a page out of the infamous "Brainticket" book of gimickry, with their own "Warning" printed on the back cover......"Any use of hallucinogenic products of all kinds is at your own risk while listening to this album".

Pretty much summarizes the band's vibe on this gem !
