THE BIRTH OF TOGETHER THE FRENCH MODERN RADIO AND CONCRETE MUSIC, UNDER THE DIRECTION OF PIERRE SCHAEFFER.
FIRST PUBLISHING OF 2 HISTORICAL MODERN WORKS, HENRY & SCHAEFFER’S « BIDULE EN UT » and « L’OISEAU RAI », which will be included few years later (1957) in the « Panorama de la Musique Concrète » 1 & 2.

Very important historical anthology including radioplays, concrete music (musique concrète), speech excerpts and all radiophonic essays
produced & recorded 1942-52 at the Studio d'essai de la Radio Télévision Française,
for the French national broadcasting company, formerly RTF, later known as ORTF.
THE DIRECTOR OF ALL THESE EXPERIENCES IS PIERRE SCHAEFFER,
THE DISCOVERER OF CONCRETE MUSIC, AND ONE OF THE GREAT THEORICIANS OF MODERN CREATION.
HE WAS AMONG THE VERY FEW WHO INITIATE THE MODERN RADIO TOGETHER WITH ELECTRO-ACOUSTICS, DURING WAR TIME, AND IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DISSOCIATE HIS MUSICAL CREATION OF HIS RADIO WORK, OR OF HIS THEORY.
The material here is mostly speech (as theatre, poetry, litterature), also experimental radioplay, events, sounding documents, sound effects, voices effects, and some of the preceeding combinated. It features the greatest of all :

THE FRENCH RADIO LET SCHAEFFER AND HENRY USE ITS TAPE RECORDERS (THEY USED ONLY TURNTABLES BEFORE), AND SO BEGAN THE SCHAEFFER’S GROUPS : CLUB D’ESSAI, GROUPE DE RECHERCHES MUSICALES (GRM).
We can hear him presenting each part of the material (he is the supervisor of many) which means all the technical and artistic problems of radio creation.
COMPLETE IN 5 DOUBLE ALBUMS, DE LUXE CLOTH, FLAT HEAVY RECORDS.
RECORDS CONDITION : For a large part VG+ to EX+, except few scuffs not sounding, few accidents and tiny dust hairscratches spots which sound local soft ticks, and occasionnally several average to strong cracks (NOT AFFECTING MUSICAL PIECES, only speech : Racine, Thomas Mann, Gogol and introduction texts by Schaeffer) ; few soft bubbles, and 2 hard bubbles sounding thuds beginning a text of Duhamel – elsewhere very nice condition and comfortable listening. The vinyl is a bit cloudy, from factory, no incidence.
