Reissue of this rare Flemish psychedelia and poetry artefact from 1973, originally published by Pink Editions & Productions. Gatefold sleeve. Comes with a fold out poster (reproduction) and a 8 page booklet (29 x 29 cm) on pink paper 'Echo's van scheurende schaamlippen'. Handnumbered limited edition of 300 copies. All copies are signed by Patrick Conrad. After six books of poetry and an anthology that includes poetry production of ten years, it seems time for a little experiment. This album rather quickly vanished into oblivion in the years after the release. That is at least strange to mention, because both from a musical and literary perspective it's a unique document. Not only it illustrates a shift in Conrad's oeuvre, it is also the only album that was released by this publisher from Antwerp and also because it was a cross-pollination of poetry and psychedelic music, never seen before in Flanders. You can hear Conrad's poems recited through an echo chamber, alternating and supported by the hippie-like folk of Roland van Campenhout, Luc Renneboog and Philippe De Chaffoy The Coursel. On the cover we see Conrad posing as a dandy next to a sculpture of Charles Albert Szukalski and the inside contains the poems against a background of opium smokers. As an extra to this reissue, you get a comprehensive essay on the record and a reproduction of the poster that announces the original presentation in the Antwerp gallery De Zwarte Panter.
