Description
This lot contains two consecutively numbered 12-inch 78 RPM records (HMV #'s DB-1072 and DB-1073) of Mendelssohn's "Trio in D Minor, Op. 49" played by Cortot, Thibaud and Casals. It appears to be an incomplete set, however. The first record and first side of the second record contain the First Movement, and the second side of the second record contains the Third Movement. So we are missing the Second Movement and the Finale.
Visually, they grade solidly in the VG+ range, still beautifully shiny and hardly any visible surface wear of any significance. They all play through without skipping or repeating on my Audio-Technica turntable, and mostly only very light background noise, but some scattered pops and clicks. Because of variations in tracking ability, filtering technology and needle weights, I can offer no guarantees as to how well they will play on your equipment.
