WOW, WHAT A SPLENDID HOLIDAY GIFT THIS CLASSIC COUNTRY ALBUM WILL MAKE TO A COLLECTOR OF TRADITIONAL COUNTRY MUSIC VINYL!
A RARE COLLECTIBLE VINYL: This is the early first U.S. Decca 12" pressing (black and silver label) of the classic Webb Pierce LP entitled "The Wondering Boy" (DL 8295). This shiny vinyl is the heavy deep groove version that produces a great MONO (High Fidelity) sound It is not the later release 1960s rainbow label me commonly found of the classic album.
This album includes such ageless hits as "Slowly (I'm Falling in Love with You)" which was 36 weeks on the Country charts with 17 weeks as #1 in 1954 AND "There Stands the Glass" which was 27 weeks on the Country Charts with 12 weeks at #1 in 1953. These two great songs are most likely to generate goose-bumps to those hearing these classics again from this vinyl masterpiece.
Condition of the vinyl is a solid VG+ with some light scratches and some spindle marks with only light surface noise on occasion. The jacket has an awesome cover that would be an outstanding candidate for those inclined to framing. The back cover is faded some but quite good and completely legible. The lower seam has a 4" split where the record is inserted and there is a 1/4" split starting at the upper seam (again where recored is inserted. Some soft corners and some fading and cracking (not splits) on side seam which is most legible. The jacket warrants a VG+ as to condition. A new withe generic inner sleeve and new poly slip-on outer sleeve are included to help protect this classic gem for another 59+ years and then some!
