RARE  LP by the great R&B/ DOO WOP group - THE CADILLACS ***

Record Album = "The Crazy Cadillacs"

Record Cover = A REALLY SENSATIONAL PICTURE OF THE CADILLACS! The Cadillacs are pictured with the "Old Masters" (Mozart, Beethoven, etc) in the background  - See Picture ***

Record Label = Jubilee JLP 1089 (Black Label with multi-color "flames" surrounding Jubilee Logo)

Artists = The Cadillacs  (Earl "Speedo" Carroll (lead), Robert Phillips, Laverne Drake, Gus Willingham (replaced by Charles Brooks), Papa Clark (replaced by Earl Wade)

Hometown = New York City

NOTE: The Cadillacs formed in Harlem in 1953 and called themselves The Carnations at the time. Their manager and songwriter Ester Navarro changed their name to "The Cadillacs". The masterpiece ballad "Gloria" was written about the singer Gloria Smith. The song "Gloria" became a street corner standard. Any "would-be doo-woppers" would have to sing "Gloria" well in order to earn respect on the street. Earl Carroll eventually left the group and joined "The Coasters".  The Cadillacs stage presentation and flashy outfits set the stage for many other groups to follow.

Album Cover Condition = VG- to VG (Front Cover : has a Shiny, Clean, High Gloss finish, A Truly Great Picture of the Cadillacs with the "Old Masters" (Mozart, Beethoven, etc) in the background,  NO writing or pen markings on front or back cover, two light creases, clear tape to protect edge wear on top seam, one very small 1" split on bottom seam. Back cover : has a bit of discoloration and includes a discussion of The Cadillacs as well as the song selections)

Record Condition = VG- to VG (No writing or markings on Label, light to moderate label wear (see photo), surface noise, scuffs, several light scratches, a couple of very brief skips at very beginning of 2nd song of side one but song plays through ok - All other songs on LP sound very nice,  Rare, Beautiful recordings that sound nice, even with some surface noise due to age)
