Description
The records that I offer for sale have been critically play-graded, at loud volume, on a Rega Planar 3 turntable fitted with an Elys cartridge. I will only sell records that play to a high standard. Any significant playing defects will be detailed in the description below. I know how disappointing it is to receive a record graded as excellent, only to find that listening pleasure is spoiled by endless pops, loud clicks and intrusive background crackle. I guarantee that you will not buy such a record from me!!
The winning bidder can expect to receive a clean record, carefully packaged, with the vinyl removed from the inner and outer sleeves to prevent splits in transit.
Here for auction is a lovely example of the self-titled first album by CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL, Catalogue Number LBS 83259 on the LIBERTY LABEL. This is an ORIGINAL 1969 UK STEREO *1st PRESSING* with the EARLIEST LIGHT BLUE/DARK BLUE LIBERTY LABELS, THE EARLIEST MATRIX NUMBERS AND VERY EARLY STAMPERS, and the VERY RARE 1st ISSUE SLEEVE which is LAMINATED ON BOTH SIDES (all but the earliest of the Blue Liberty pressings came with front-laminated sleeves). Very hard to find!!
The single fully-laminated sleeve, with “A PRODUCT OF Liberty/UA Records”, and the London address printed on the back, is in VERY GOOD+ CONDITION (strictly graded). The front and back laminated covers are unmarked with just a few laminate creases, mostly near the edges. There is some laminate lifting adjacent to the spine. The vivid colours have not faded. The top and bottom edges are in excellent shape with just a little feathering. The opening edges have a few tiny knocks from careless record entry (nothing serious). The spine corners are nice and square with barely any wear, and the opening corners show a little rubbing. The slim spine has a few small creases but the text is clearly legible. Overall, a well preserved example of this rare 1st issue sleeve!!
The record is solidly pressed and sits flat and true on the turntable. It retains a deep mirror-like shine.
The matrix numbers and stampers are:
Side 1 – LBS 83259 A//1 420 1 1 0
Side 2 – LBS 83259 B//1 420 1 1 1 0
Visually both sides are in close to EXCELLENT CONDITION with just very light surface marks evident under bright light (mostly from taking the record in and out of the inner sleeve). These marks are purely superficial and do not cause any audio problems. The beautiful light/dark blue Liberty labels are unmarked with just a few spindle traces near the centres.
PLAYGRADE ASSESSMENT:
This is a particularly vibrant and loud-cut pressing. The amazing sounds that emanate from these 1st press grooves are very special. Both sides play to a very high standard with all frequencies crystal clear. There are no pops or loud clicks, and a minimum of unwanted noise (just occasional light surface sound which is never intrusive). A better playing 1st press copy may be very difficult to find!!
Complete with the original plain white poly-lined inner sleeve which is in very good condition. There is just some age discoloration and a small split to one side edge. “British Patent No…” and “MADE IN ENGLAND” are printed at the bottom in blue ink.
FULLY LAMINATED SLEEVED 1st PRESSINGS OF THIS CLASSIC ALBUM WITH NEAR PERFECT PLAYBACK ARE SERIOUSLY DIFFICULT TO FIND - DON’T MISS THE OPPORTUNITY!!!

If you don't add the required insurance and your record is lost or damaged, you will not get a refund. I can’t make it any clearer than that!
The UK postage cost includes insurance up to a value of £32. If the final sale price is more than this, your invoice will include an insurance option. The same applies as specified in the above paragraph.
