Description

Essential to early 70's-loving progheads! Luscious organ-dominated sound is so gorgeous and the inventive arrangements on their pot-pourri influences are more than enough for the proghead's enthusiasm. Winter, the eponymous title track, Depression (which is anything but, really), Lights In My Mind (sounding like Hendrix's version of Watchtower), Spring 69 and Earthman, are the many highlights but overall, all of the 12 tracks are relatively even in quality. The singer has an excellent and unique voice timbre and all of those musicians are good. There is a rather peculiar happy melancholy throughout the album, and it is certainly a major part of its appeal. Cressida have acquired almost mythical status as the band who released two superb albums in the early 70s before disappearing into relative obscurity Origianl 70’s Vertigo progressive classic. http://www.myspace.com/cressidauk         THE GATE FOLD COVER HAS A LOT OF PROBLEMS, EDGE WEAR, CREASES, A SMALL PLACE OF STICKER DAMAGE AND A 1' SPLIT ON THE TOP SEAM (SEE PHOTOS) VG- THE RECORD HAS A COUPLE OF FAINT HAIRLINES THAT CANNOT BE HEARD OR AFFECT PLAY. AT THE START THERE IS A BIT OF SURFACE NOISE THEN STOPS, SAME ON SIDE TWO. VERY CLEAN AND SHINNY! MINT MINUS VERTIGO 847 904     (Postage is USA $4 media. Canada $12 and overseas $18.
