SLEEVE CONDITION
EXCELLENT
(Great sleeve: only light fading to back and a very slight corner bend to bottom right)
(COMPLETE WITH ORIGINAL HMV LINER)
VINYL CONDITION - SOUND
EXCELLENT
(Great sound. Plays with no sticking or loud popping, only very occassional and light background.)
VINYL CONDITION -VISUAL
EXCELLENT minus / VERY GOOD plus
(Great sheen to vinyl; in strong light and at an angle a few minor/small light marks and some minor handling/sleeve scuffs. Labels great but both have light spindle marks - a played but very well cared for copy.)
GRADING
I use the Record Collector Magazine grading system:-
Unless the record is still sealed I don't use MINT at all.
However great the sleeve is I virtually always describe them as Excellent; I will state if there are any very minor faults - anything major and I just won't list the record.
With regard to the vinyl itself I will state it as Near Mint if it is visually without fault; Excellent vinyl may have exceptionally minor / barely visible none sounding marks. I will not list vinyl in less than Excellent condition unless it is unbelievably rare.
I do background play test the vast majority of LPs, and study test rare/expensive ones.
Having bought from EBay myself I appreciate that Near Mint covers a multitude of sins - I do spend considerable time trying to ensure A1 quality and will refund you if you're disappointed.
