Description
CUMULO-NIMBUS
1975 Austin, Texas indie LP
Here's an unusual fusion Lp from Austin, Texas, circa 1975. It's by Cumulo Nimbus which is a quintet of Paul Ostermayer on sax, John Treanor on drums, Dude Skiles on piano, Spencer Starnes on bass, and Mel Winters on trumpet. The group were a jazz-rock fusion band that cut this in August of '75 at Odyssey Sound in Austin. This is on Fable Records of Austin, the same label that gave us the legendary Steam Heat funk Lp.
The songs are all original instrumentals and are on this small press Fable Records album. The track "March Of The Goober Woobers" has some nice funky bass playing on it, as you can hear on the sample.
What a nice, obscure little riff for somebody to use as a break beat sample in something new.....
