Here I have on offer
a particularly RARE copy of the 3rd album by German band Can
TAGO MAGO
Recorded on 2 Vinyl Lp's and packaged within a distinctive single flip top opening sleeve made of textured card
Catalogue number on United Artists UAD 60009/10

Tago Mago was recorded in 1971 by Czukay in Schloss Norvenich, a castle near Cologne. The band was allowed to stay there for a year without paying any rent by the owner, an art collector named Mr. Vohwinkel.

This was the first of Can's albums to be made from not only regularly recorded music, but combined "in-between-recordings", where Czukay secretly recorded the musicians jamming while waiting for various technical problems to be resolved. Czukay would edit these long, disorganized jams into structured songs. According to Czukay, the album was named after Isla de Tagomago, an island off the east coast of Ibiza. Recording was completed in three months.

This is the original first pressing So Rare !!
The album is listed in the book 1001 ALBUMS YOU MUST HEAR BEFORE YOU DIE in which it stated, "Even after 30 years TAGO MAGO sounds refreshingly contemporary and gloriously extreme.
This album in its original format , 2 vinyls within the textured fliptop sleeve, is very rare and impossible to find with Ex Vinyl as it was generally played to death when first bought in the 70's
This copy has both vinyls in at least Ex quality,
Side 1 has some very faint difficult to see sleeve removal marks but is still shiny and clear
The label has some very slight age related foxing around the spindle hole but only 1 or 2 very faint spindle threads
Matrix numbers are C29211 A-1 within the inner runoff grooves
and UAD 60009A-1 just under the first number between 2nd and 3rd runoff grooves
Side 2 has also just one or two maybe very faint sleeve removals but is otherwise clean and shiny,
the label is clean and tidy with no evidence of any wear on the spindle hole, just a few very faint spindle threads
Matrix numbers are C29211 B-1 again within the inner runoffs and
UAD 60009B-1 again just under the first number between the inner 2nd and 3rd runoff grooves
Side 3 is much the same as side 1 and side 2 and looks clean shiny and virtually unplayed, there are some very faint sleeve removals but I am being very critical, the label has some spindle trails and a small area of age related foxing but there is very little wear on the spindle hole itself.
As for the 1st vinyl there are 2 matrix numbers and they are C29212 A-1 and UAD 60010A-1
Side 4 looks a bit better than the others in that I cannot see any marks whatsoever on the vinyl It really looks unplayed !!
The label is nice and clean with just a few light spindle trails
The Matrix numbers are in the same format as the others and are C29212 B-1 and UAD 60010B-1
This album is 44 years old and the sleeve is showing a little age BUT is completely intact, usually for these album sleeves the tabs on the flipcover usually are torn or missing completely.
This sleeve is completely intact !!
This is an original Textured sleeve non gatefold with the flip cover that looks like an envelope.
There is a little shelf wear on the lower edge, a little corner edge wear and a little more wear on the front edge. As you would expect there is some ringwear and rubbing on the face side and the tabs on the flip are creased but still intact with no tears !!

On listening i expected to hear loads of crackle and jumps, there was none of the usual problems you would expect instead it sounded clear and bright, with just the odd pop and bang that was in no way intrusive.

Overall this is a brilliant copy of a Megarare Album !!
Please look at the pictures below as well
Auction starts at 99p!!

OOOOOOOOOOO   I do not charge for packaging BUT that does not mean I do not package properly.   I despair at some of the records I receive through the post without any 'fragile' or 'do not bend ' stickers on the record, or even any more packaging than BROWN PAPER with a name and address and nothing else   I package records properly with proper thought to the process of sending a fragile easily bent and therefore ruined 12" record   I will take the record out of its sleeve and enclose both sleeve and vinyl within a plastic sleeve, enclose that within at least 2 good quality cardboard stiffeners, put extra cardboard at the corners to prevent any edge and corner bends, finally i will enclose all that into either a top quality heavy cardboard mailer or a good quality mailing box with a good amount of bubble wrap and strengthening cardboard.   All of the above is free !!   My postage charge for despatch within the UK is £4.50 for 1 single disc £6 for 2 discs (or a double album) These prices are what the post office will charge me for 1st class signed for delivery and I will not compromise on this by sending 2nd class or not signed for and I do not make any profit on the actual postage costs   I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY COMPLAINTS RE MY PACKAGING JUST PLENTY OF GOOD FEEDBACK SO CAN RIGHTLY BE PROUD AND CONFIDENT THAT THE RECORD WILL REACH YOU IN THE CONDITION IT IS SENT FROM HERE   If you do have any issues with the packaging and despatch and charges for the record you receive please contact me as soon as possible after receiving the record. I will always try and up to now have always succeeded in giving you complete satisfaction in the whole buying process   THANK YOU FOR TAKING AN INTEREST IN THIS AUCTION
AND GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BIDDING YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED !!
