Offered here is an original first U.S. mono pressing of Somethin’ Else, issued in May 1958 on Blue Note Records. This copy exhibits all known first-press identifiers, making it a textbook example of one of the most sought-after Blue Note LPs.

• RVG stamped on both sides
• Plastylite “P” present on both sides
• Side 1: Plastylite logo stamped at a slight angle, with only the top of the “ear” visible
• Side 2: Logo stamped at a more extreme angle, creating a small dent in the original master lacquer, making the “ear” even harder to distinguish
• The “9” and “M” are etched sideways on both sides, relative to the rest of the deadwax inscriptions
• The Plastylite “P” is stamped slightly crooked and faint, consistent with known early stampings
These traits are entirely consistent with early Plastylite pressings and confirm authenticity.
