This is a rare 10-inch 78 RPM shellac record featuring Cappy Barra’s Harmonica Swing Ensemble, released on the iconic Variety label in 1937. The A-side features the track 'Voodoo,' an instrumental novelty composed by Sann-Lafell-Duke, while the B-side presents a rendition of the classic 'Stardust' by Parish-Carmichael, featuring a vocal performance by Leon Lafell.
Recorded during the height of the swing era, this disc showcases the unique and virtuosic harmonica-led jazz arrangements that Cappy Barra was renowned for. This specific pressing (Catalog VA 660) is a significant piece of 1930s musical history, representing the Master Records era under the Variety imprint. It is a must-have for collectors of pre-war jazz, swing novelty, or early American harmonica ensembles.
