Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band Strictly Personal
"Strictly Personal" is the follow-up to "Safe As Milk," the band's second official album, recorded at Sunset Sound Recorders between 25th April & 2nd May 1968 and originally released on the "Blue Thumb" label in the US in October of that year.
US Blue Thumb 5001 BTS1-1-A ·C †T I 1-1D 1973 Stereo issue
Cover: Lovely condition, no tears, seam splits or writing, fully readable and proud spine, a couple of very, very small age related handling marks inside, slight small crush-scuff on bottom left corner, and ‘export’ clipped top right outside corner (see photos) - compared with many this really is Ex/Ex- or to be on the safe side very, very strong VG+
Labels: Nice clean labels solid VG+/EX condition (see photos)
Vinyl: Clean, visually lovely bright gloss. S2 looks almost NM- certainly EX/EX+. Under light there are a couple of wispy surface marks probably caused by inner sleeve removal. S1 again looks EX, a couple of wispy surface and age related marks (visible under light). There is one non-feel-able surface scratch on T1 S1 - overall VG+/EX-
Audio: Good solid, clean audio, no skips, jumps, repeats, crackle etc. Very light static in dead wax run-in that’s all. S2 plays at a solid EX. S1 has the light scratch which does cause pips for the first third of the opening track, not loud, but present and then gradually fades, the rest (T2 onwards) of the album plays near EX, certainly strong VG+
