Description
1st pressing from 1957 on Sun Records! The record is rated a G several scuffs and light scratches causing skips on almost every track. Most tracks have one skip except "Tennessee " which has multiple skips and a few periods where the audio is distorted. I have a Technics direct drive player with 2 grams on the tone arm, the record will most likely play better on a player with more weight. The person I purchased the lp from claimed the record did not skip for him. A vpi cleaning would also probably help.
The audio throughout has crackling heavier in the areas on the outside and quieter nearer the center. Despite the skips the record is still an enjoyable listen and the music still shines through and is not distorted or quiet. My amplifier has a mono button that also improves the background noise.
The cover is taped on all sides. There is a name written in blue pen on the front that is not very noticeable. The printing on the front cover is still colorful and vibrant. The back has paper missing near the record opening and is yellowed from age. The tape job is more visible on the back. The cover is rated G+.
Overall, the lp has audio and visual issues, but is still a great listen despise its obvious faults.
