Description
A rare original US 1st edition copy of Carole King - Tapestry released on the Ode Records label SP-77009 - an album that belongs in everyone's record collection!
This is an early S2 S3 Santa Maria Pressing released in March 1971.
The vinyl has been ultrasonically cleaned in our amazing Degritter and has come up spotlessly clean with a lovely glossy lustre retained & one or two faint scuffs &hairlines but nothing remotely feelable or that troubles playback. Clean labels and spindle holes - graded VG+ visually but plays EX.
Playtest reveals a wonderfully warm and analogue sound, nostalgic & evocative in tone. Carole's vocals are central and pull you in with an emotional and honest delivery of her own songs - what a masterpiece this album is! The vinyl plays through beautifully with no jumping or sticking. Some low background noise/crackle in a few places which only adds to the captivating listening experience.
The rigid gatefold sleeve is clean & solid overall - still doing a great job after all these years! The seams and corners show age related wear, mostly readable spine with some flaking, plus ringwear/light shelfwear. Small 5cm split just starting to top seam.
No writing, stains, tears or tape.
The original Ode inner sleeve is present - we have popped the record into a fresh poly lined inner sleeve to keep it pristine after cleaning, you will receive both.
A rare opportunity to own an original copy of a wonderful album, fully cleaned & playtested, ready to carry on giving listening pleasure for years to come!
