Description

An original 1st press of TATFC on the Island label from 1971. Matrix 3/3 - very 1st cut. Etching 'LH Sterling'. Stamper 2-GO/2-GP. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original textured cover printed by E J Day - very 1st issue. There's NO original inner sleeve with this LP.
Vinyl (Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one very slight deviation. A very very fine player which does a terrific job of revealing this CAT classic to maximum effect. Remember, these CAT Lps are very acoustic driven and very susceptible to interference. I'm pleased to report that, on this example, interference is borderline non-existent. I couldn't detect more than a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. The only deviation is one solitary click during 'Morning Has Broken'. A very assured delivery that, in reality, is not that far short of perfect.

Cover (Vg+) This is the very 1st issue textured cover and they do, typically, pick up a little bit more low-level dirt than later copies. But this example acquits itself well and remains in fine form. Just some low-level ageing toward the extremities. The rear looks very fine with no creasing. The interior is superb - no issues. Edge wear is mostly light, but it is exhibiting a bit more along the spine so the text is partially obscured. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
