Description
Offered is a (single-sided) heavy 12-inch diameter shellac CENTER
START Viva-Tonal Columbia AD-1762-D done by Ruth Etting entitled
"Button Up Your Overcoat."
It is 33rpm speed!
I am certain that it is exactly the same as the regular 78rpm issue
(Columbia 1762-D) with the Dorsey Brothers etc.
I have concluded that this record was made to complement one of the
movie systems for home use (perhaps commercial as well) which were
produced during the late 20's into the 30's, utilizing films which were
syncronized to commercial recordings.
I am not certain what the prefix AD stood for (Audio Device,
perhaps?).
The record is in E- to V+ condition, with label scratches. The finer
grooves don't sound as nice as a typical Viva-Tonal would sound, but
it plays through just fine.
