Description
Recorded in a studio in 1968 by Manson and his followers plus a few studio musicians, but prior to the now infamous murders in 1969. Despite some wear in the paper holding the edges of the album cover together, the record is in very good shape (see photos) and is quite playable. This copy is apparently a re-release by ESP-Disc in 1974 of an earlier limited edition of 2000 back in 1970 from Phil Kaufman. Listening to this is simultaneously sad, creepy and chilling. The lyrics are sung by Charles Manson w/ oddly muted backup singing done by some of the female 'followers'. If you have any interest in evaluating mental illness, this is a case study for you. Clearly, this guy was one of society's misfits in the age of hippies in the 1960's. The lyrics are chillingly prophetic for what we now know happened a year or so after this was recorded.
