Description

Charles Mingus "Mingus Mingus Mingus.." on Impulse AS-54 from 1963. The record is in glossy VG++/M- condition with a small scratch at the beginning of "Celia" that for the most part lightly ticks for about 10 turns and is then gone. If not for that this LP would be a M- copy. The labels are clean as seen. The thick glossy laminated gatefold cover is in great condition as seen with no seam splits, writing, holes etc. "VAN GELDER" is machined stamped into the dead wax. Nice 1st press copy!

Charles Mingus, Eric Dolphy, Booker Ervin, Charlie Mariano, Dannie Richmond, Jerome Richardson, Jaki Byard ..... they are the ingredients for great music.  Mariano has outstanding solos on two Mingus ballads and Ervin soars and sears "Theme for Lester Young", also known as "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat".
