The Charles Moffett Family - "Vol. 1" LP
A nice, collectible used copy of this ultrarare private press jazz lp released in 1975 on Charles Moffett Recordings/Codaryl Publications. Charles Moffett is well-known as the monstrous uptempo swinger behind Ornette Coleman's Blue Note "Live at Golden Circle" LP sessions in 1965. This killer LP features his drumming on four on four compositions backed by Patrick McCarthy (bass) and his sons Charles Jr. (saxophones), Mondre (trumpet), Charnette (bass and trumpet) and Codaryl (drums). The tempos are fast and the soloing is hot. Free-bop at its best!The record sleeve is in good condition. There is some general storage wear including a 1.5" seam split on the bottom edge, but overall this cover is in good shape. The record is in very good condition with only a few slight marks which do not significantly effect the playing.
